Elspec are partnered with Power Quality Expert in the UK to support and supply their range of advanced state of the art power quality analyzers, power quality solutions and power monitoring software. The partnership allows for both businesses to focus on developing technology and tailor made power quality solutions that pushes the power quality market to the next level.

The Elspec power quality analyzer products are compliant with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) Energy Technology List portable energy monitoring equipment criteria. The ETL product approval and qualification process provides independent verification that Elspec power quality and energy products are in the top 25% of power and energy monitoring test instrumentation currently available on the market.

With the inclusion of the Elspec range of power quality analysers, Power Quality Expert are the largest stakeholder with the ETL for portable energy monitoring equipment. These innovative power quality products from Elspec can be found in almost any sector, covering the industrial and commercial markets to the utility sector and solar PV and windfarm renewables projects.

Installations using Elspec’s power quality solutions can be found in leading windfarm projects as part of long term OEM partnerships with Siemens, Vestas and Nordex.

Power Quality Analyzers

Elspec power quality analyzers take power quality monitoring to a new level.  The analyzers are equipped with the revolutionary Elspec PQZIP compression patented algorithm.  This algorithm enables the Elspec power quality analyzer series to measure, store and analyze waveform signals continually at a sampling rate of up to 1024 samples per cycle. This ensures power quality data is recorded without the need to set any trigger or threshold and provides unlimited pre and post trigger measurements. The Elspec analyzers far surpass the highest industry standards and comply with IEC 61000-4-30 Class A.

Digital Fault Recorders

The Elspec multi-functional digital fault recorders are equipped with Elspec’s unique integrated PQZIP technology. They comply with IEC 61850 MMS, GOOSE (Generic Object-Oriented Substation Event) messaging and Sampled Values (SV) and surpass IEC 61000-4-30 Class A requirements.  The Elspec G5DFR continuously records and stores all waveform signals at a sampling rate of up to 1024 samples per cycle thanks to the patented PQZIP compression algorithm.  This enables data analysis to be made at any time.

Power Quality Software

PQSCADA Sapphire is a multi-component, vendor free, power quality software package. PQSCADA Sapphire can integrate data from protection relays, fault recorders, power quality analyzers, smart meters and other data sources into a single database.

Fault Ride Through

The Elspec Equalizer RT is a real-time high performance power quality solution designed to deliver substantial reactive power during a Fault Ride Through (FRT) or Voltage Ride Though (VRT) event where a very deep voltage sag occurs on the electrical network.  This fault ride through solution provides a boost to the  supplied kVAr during electrical grid voltage dips and has an ultra fast acquisition time which can fully compensate for the voltage sag within less than 10 milliseconds.  The Elspec Equalizer RT makes a transient free connection of capacitors in a Voltage Control operational mode and is optimised to fulfil the Grid Code requirements, such as Spain’s PO12.3, and grid regulations that define the technical and operational conditions for power generating facilities like solar PV and wind farms.

Voltage Stabilization

Elspec’s voltage optimization power quality solutions compensate for full load reactive power demands in less than one network cycle.  The Elspec real-time compensation systems stabilize voltage, enhance PF, mitigate Harmonics and reduce voltage flickering and fluctuations, all in real time.  The voltage optimization solutions use transient switching technology which works through a precise zero-crossing thyristor control.  These Elspec solutions enable the quick identification of voltage problems and power factor to enable faster correction of the power quality.
